Start with a length to width ratio between 1.30 and 1.45. A ratio near 1.30 creates a wider radiant shape. A ratio near 1.45 looks longer and slimmer. Before you choose, check the millimeter size and see how much of your finger the diamond covers.

Some radiant cut diamonds show a bow tie effect across the center. It appears as a dark band when the diamond does not return light evenly. A faint bow tie may appear in certain lighting, but it should not control the center of the stone. Check videos and images in several lighting conditions before choosing a radiant diamond.

A 1 carat radiant diamond creates a refined look with moderate finger coverage. A 2 carat radiant has more width and a stronger presence. A secure four prong or double claw setting works well with a radiant cut diamond. The prongs hold the cropped corners and keep the rectangular shape visible. A supportive basket or gallery rail adds stability for a larger center stone. Choose a solitaire for a clean look, a hidden halo for side sparkle, or a three stone setting for more finger coverage.

A raised radiant setting leaves room for a straight wedding band. A low or wide setting leaves less room between the rings. Choose a curved, contour, or open wedding band when you want a closer fit. Check the setting height, band width, and where the rings touch.
